Bio

I was born and raised in Durango, Colorado where I developed a deep love for the outdoors and competitive sports that I played.

When I was 13 years old, I was introduced to CrossFit by one of my baseball coaches, and I continued to do CrossFit intermittently throughout my teenage years. In high school, my training focused on strength and power movements to gain as much size and explosiveness as possible. By the time I stopped playing football, I was 275 pounds. I realized there was no longer a purpose to carrying that much body weight, and I was not feeling healthy or confident in my skin. I returned to CrossFit to pursue a better version of myself.

By joining an affiliate and following CrossFit’s “Fitness in 100 Words” prescription, I lost over 60 pounds in one year! I have climbed numerous 14ers and enjoyed Colorado’s beautiful ski slopes, single-track trails, and treacherous elk country.

My fitness is also crucial to my success as an active first responder in our local community. I have a passion for helping Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, and EMT/Paramedics take back their health so that they can provide the best version of themselves to their families, the highest level of service to the community, and to fight back against the harsh realities of shift work, stress, and unhealthy habits commonly found in these professions. My mission is to ensure that all Emergency Responders can live fulfilling lives through a healthy lifestyle.

I have been a CF-L1 trainer since 2019, and I plan to take significant steps in my education in 2024 to become a more well-rounded Coach for all Bird Dog athletes!

My Wife and I welcomed our first little boy in July 2023. Come join the three of us for a workout at Bird Dog CrossFit most evenings!
